Scandal-prone starlet Lindsay Lohan is back with a new made-for-television film "Liz & Dick," which had its big premiere in Los Angeles last Tuesday.

The film portrays the tumultuous romance between the iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor, played by Lohan, and fellow actor Richard Burton.

Speaking to press before the screening, Lohan opened up about her personal life, which has sustained the tabloid industry in Hollywood for many years. She revealed she was not ready to get into a romantic relationship at the moment, saying she was more focused and dedicated to her career these days.

Lohan also admitted to late night show host Jay Leno that she found out about the film on IMDB and proceeded to hound the show's producer, Larry A. Thompson, for the leading role.

The child star has grown up in front of the cameras -- her relationships, arrests and party-hard lifestyle have been well documented by the ever-prying paparazzi. Lohan said she related to Elizabeth Taylor, a 1960s icon, because they shared this experience of growing up in the spotlight. "I look to her because she got through it."

Unfortunately for Lohan, the film has not inspired any glowing reviews. Just the opposite in fact. The Hollywood Reporter review for example called the Lifetime film "half train wreck, half 'SNL' skit."

Lohan is a fixture in Hollywood, and despite the negative reviews, everyone will be eagerly waiting to see what she does next.
