‘El Sheta Elly Fat’ opens Malmo Festival for Arab Cinema

Malmo Arab Film Festival (MAFF) is a nonprofit cultural event held every September in Malmo-Sweeden.The Egyptian movie " El Sheta Eli Fat" will be the opening movie for this year’s round of the festival. The movie is directed by Egyptian independent cinema’s filmmaker pioneer Ibrahim El Batout and takes part in the official contest.

The movie has already been screened in Egyptian theaters in March and has also participated in several film festivals like 69th Venice Film Festival, Dubai Film Festival and Cairo Film Festival.The movie is starring Amr Waked, young actress Farah Youssef and Salah Hefny.

In other news, the festival honors Egyptian actress Lebleba, who left Cairo yesterday for Sweden. Lebleba will also be part of the festival’s jury committee. The festivals also honors the Palestinian actor/filmmaker Mohamed Bakry .
