Amr Waked: "El Sheta Eli Fat" at the Oscars Would be "Beyond Imagination"

Amr Waked said in a statement to that he was incredibly happy about the selection of his film “ El Sheta Eli Fat” (Winter of Discontent) by the Egyptian committee to be submitted for Oscar consideration in the foreign film category. Tipping his hat to the committee, he said it was comprised of distinctive artists.

Waked stressed that Egypt nominates a film every year for this award, but none have been selected by the Academy to compete for the prize. Needless to say, he's wishing “El Sheta Eli Fat” will have this opportunity. He also stressed that for the film to win the Oscar would be “beyond imagination.”

Waked is currently headed to France to vacation with his son and meet up with friends there.
