The last awards before the Oscars andthe most robust predictions for the Academy choices were announcedyesterday.
Both Oscar nominees, “ Dallas Buyers Club” co-stars, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto won thebest performances for male actors in both leading and supportingroles. That's one step closer for McConaughey to the Oscars afterwinning the Golden Globes and Critics Choice award in the mostacclaimed role in his career.
The award for Outstanding Performanceby a Cast in a Motion Picture, the Guild's equivalent for BestPicture went to the cast of “ American Hustle,” also an Oscarnominee for Best Picture.
Another highly acclaimed role is Cate Blanchett's in Woody Allen's “ Blue Jasmine” who also collectedthe Golden Globes award for the same role. Blanchett is one of thestrongest nominees for the Academy Awards this year. Oscar nominee, Kenyan Lupita Nyong’opicked up the prize for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role for“ 12 Years a Slave.”
