To take revenge on El-Masry for assaulting one of Abdoun's men, Abdoun plots with Othman against El-Masry. Meanwhile, Enshrah arrives at the neighborhood, and she is prohibited from entering until Hassan El-Massry mediates for her.
Abdoun's men decide to have Hassan El-Massry murdered on the night of Gulanr's, Othman's sister, wedding, then they decide to cut Saadoun's tongue to ensure he doesn't blurt out their treacherous act. Hassan's wife passes away after she gives birth to a baby boy she names Saad.
Now that he is parentless, Enshrah becomes Saad's godmother and takes care of him. Abdoun, meanwhile, is ceaselessly searching for Saad since he had a nightmarish dream in which a child grows up and murders him.
Enshrah tells chief Abdoun that Zanouba had sold Saad to a family residing at Al Sayyida Aisha area. Abdoun continues to torture and oppress those who dare to stand up to his injustice, even if it is chief El-Dali, a highly regarded man.
Enhsrah smuggles Saad the orphan to Al-Hosary's House. Abdoun gets angry with Louza and decides to demolish her house, but Othman urges Abdoun to take back his orders. Gulnar sympathizes with Saad when she learns his story and she orders to have him reside at the shelter attached to the house.
Abdoun kills Enshrah and he is imprisoned following Asaker's testimony against him, but he is shortly released. When Saad gets older, Gulnar adopts him and takes him to Othman's house.
Aziz, Gulnar's husband, falls ill, and his wife accompanies him to Turkey for treatment. In her absence, Othman looks after Saad and implants in him such virtues as endurance and determination to prepare him for life.
Saad goes with his uncle Othman to London where he grows up and has his college degree, and he returns to Egypt afterward.
A most inconvenient accident occurs when Saad almost runs over Ward with his car, but that soon develops into a crush. Saad and Abdoun quarrel when the former urges the latter to leave the neighborhood.
Abdoun gets angry and decides to set fire to Othman's mansion, and Saad manages to get the help of the British to keep Abdoun's anger at bay.
Thanks to Saad's closeness to the authorities, Othman earns the honorary title Pasha. Meanwhile, the residents of the neighborhood crowd with the aim of expelling Abdoun from the neighborhood, but the Sheriff intervenes and stops them.
Othman Pasha confirms that Ward is his daughter by blood, but to rid himself of all suspicions, he consults Louza who affirms the same. Saad is growing more infatuated with Ward.
Upon informing the Sheriff that he intends to make Abdoun an honorary chief of the neighborhood, the Sheriff gets mad at Othman, but he eventually accepts the decision, however reluctant.
Umm Helal returns to the neighborhood and heads the Youth Resistance Movement against the British colonizer, and she tells Helal she has the neighborhood's original authentication documents.
Saad refuses to return to the shelter where he stayed as a young boy because it reminds him of being an orphan. Meanwhile, he gathers with the people of the neighborhood and promises them many job opportunities and luxuries in the near future.
Saadoun gets angry when Gulnar complains that Saad has grown up to take his uncle Othman's aggressive manners and his easily-irritated nature, and he considers taking away all the privileges he has bestowed upon him for his growing sense of entitlement.
Bernard and Yacoub work a ploy to get rid of the humble mendicants and throw them out of the shelter, so they feign the news of having a fatal contagious disease, urging everyone to leave the shelter.
Sheikh El-Lithy passes away before he gets to inform Saad of the truth about his parents. El-Lithy's brother flees the shelter. Umm Helal resumes her preparation to take revenge on the British colonizers.
When the Sheriff throws the mendicants out of the shelter, they take refuge in the mountain. The police's attempts to find Saadoun are futile as Asaker takes him to an abandoned house that becomes his hideout.
Gad recounts to Saad the story of his father's death. He tells him how mercilessly Abdoun and his men killed him, and Asaker confirms the story as she tells Saad she witnessed the murder herself.
Saad goes ballistic when he is acquainted with the story of his father's death. Gad also tells him that his father was a righteous man who defended such virtues as justice and honor, and he stood up to the corruption embodied in Abdoun and his men.
Saad joins the resistance to defy the colonizer. Simultaneously, he masterminds a plan to avenge his father's death.
A British colonel accuses Ward and El-Dali's son of murdering British soldiers, but Saad intervenes to rescue Ward and smuggles her to the mountain.
Abdoun heads to the Sheriff and tells him that the resistance fighters have kidnapped his daughter and urges him to save her.
The resistance fighters abduct Ali and Yacoub and have them imprisoned in the mountain. Bernard informs the colonel that he saw Saad with the resistance fighters.
Yacoub intends to have Ali inform the Colonel of Saad's past. Abdoun gets mad when he receives the news that two of his men; Hima and Deiedar, are murdered.
El-Husary informs Abdoun of Saad's past, and Abdoun hereby informs Othman who gets mad and has Saad locked up in the basement.
Ward and Asaker inform Gulnar that Saad has gone missing. Abdoun descends to the basement with the intention of doing harm to Saad, but Saad manages to defend himself.
Upon learning that Louza is her mother, Ward goes insane and reproaches Louza for abandoning her all these years. Umm Helal gets a bullet and is taken to the mountain for treatment. Abdoun assaults Saad.
Ragab manages to get Saad out of the basement and the two men flee to the mountain. Saad learns that it is Saadoun who murdered Hima, Deiedar, and El-Noun. Saad is given the neighborhood's authentication documents.
Saad incites the men against Abdoun. Othman Pasha tells Ward he is her father, and Louza is her mother. Abdoun initiates war on Saad. This civil war ends with both men Saadun and Abdoun dead, and Saad goes to meet his uncle Othman.
