Sabry asks for Magda's hand in marriage, but her brother Gawdat refuses because of his difficult financial status. Magda has a nervous breakdown and is taken to the hospital. Tahany tries to get closer to Sabry but he rejects her.

Nano tries to woo Sabry at her office, but he evades her. Sabry's mother, Fadila goes to Magda's house but her mother, Jilan, kicks her out. Sabry goes to see Magda at the hospital but she asks him to stay away from her. Samir proposes to Magda.

Magda marries Samir and they travel abroad. He treats her badly and she asks for a divorce. Sabry considers marrying Tahany because she was there for him. Nano fires Sabry and his friend Medhat after she finds out that he got married.

Medhat persuades his friend Sabry to travel to Austria with him now that they are out of jobs. Samir divorces Magda and she returns home and lives by herself. Magda finds out that Sabry got married and traveled to Austria.

Sabry arrives in Austria and meets Ra'fat and his wife Odette at the airport. She takes him to Abdel Latif's pharmacy, but he doesn't find him. Kamal and Emad take Sabry to their flat and he meets Margret, the owner.

Margret helps Sabry with a misunderstanding that lands him in the police station. Kamal tells Sabry about Margret's story, as she fell in love with an Egyptian man who came to Vienna but he left her and returned to Egypt.

Sabry finds out that he had a girl and her grandmother named her Sabrine. Sabry works as a medical examiner's assistant but he starts having nightmares and quits his job. He decides to return to Egypt but Emad tells him to take over his job that he just quit.

Sabry takes the job, he upsets Margret but apologizes. Magda goes to see Sabrine but Tahany kicks her out. Samir asks Magda to get back together but she declines.

When Margret confesses her love for Sabry and asks him to marry her, he tells her that he will think about it. Sabry consults his friends about marrying Margret and he decides to pack his things and return to Egypt. Margret fights with him after she finds out.

Sabry finds out that Kamal's son passed away, and Sabry gives him his ticket so that he can attend his son's funeral. Margret calms Sabry down and takes him home. He starts to have feelings for her and they get married.

A big earthquake hits Cairo and Sabry finds out that his wife and her mother have died in the aftermath. Sabry returns to Egypt and learns that Magda has been taking care of his daughter. Sabry's mother urges him to marry his first love Magda but he tells her about his marriage to Margret.

Magda tells Sabry that Sabrine is sick and he gets her a doctor. Magda's parents fight with Sabry and his mother and Magda tells them that she already knows about Sabry's marriage. Despite his lingering feelings for Magda, Sabry returns to Austria.

Abdel Latif asks Fadila to marry him but she evades him. Sabry calls Magda everyday to check on her. He tells Margret that he didn't bring his daughter with him because he wants to protect her from the European culture.

Margret converts to Islam and changes her name to Fatma Al-Zahraa and Sabry decides not to divorce her after she became a Muslim. Fatma feels that Sabry is hiding something. Magda asks Sabry to stand by her side and he asks for a leave from work but finds out that his boss is Fatma's father.

Fatma's father threatens to send Sabry to jail if he takes a second wife, because the law in Austria does not allow polygamy. Fatma tells Sabry that she knows that he loves Magda and she doesn't mind if he marries her. Sabry returns to Egypt and plans his marriage to Magda.

Fatma's father fires Sabry from the factory but Fatma persuades her father not to report him to the police. Fatma greets Magda at the airport, but Magda starts trouble with Sabry after learning that she will live with Fatma in her apartment.

Sabry invites Magda to dinner to meet his friends and she fights with Fatma. Sabry gets an apartment for Magda and she asks him not to go to Fatma and stay with her. Fadila goes to Fatma.

Sabry approves his mother's marriage to Abdel Latif. Fatma's father reports Sabry to the police. Fatma asks Sabry to divorce her so that he wouldn't go to jail. Magda finds out about Fatma's sacrifice and asks Fatma to forgive her. Fatma says goodbye to them at the airport as they're leaving.
