Shahin hands his friend Salloum a letter to deliver to Hasna because he loves her and wants to propose to her, but he is afraid of her father. Shahin receives news that Hasna's father is calling him a fraud.

Shahin sees Salloum's father murdered on the mountainside and tells Salloum that he saw Abu Hasna kill him. Salloum asks him to go with him to the police station to testify about what he saw, but he refuses. Abu Hasna sells the silk for a large sum of money.
