A funeral is held for the freedom fighter Ihsan in the neighborhood where he lives, and it is rumored that Syrian President Shukri al-Quwatli attended. Shahin hands his friend Salloum a letter to deliver to Hasna because he loves her and wants to propose to her, but he is afraid of her father. Shahin receives news that Hasna's father is calling him a fraud.

Shahin sees Salloum's father murdered on the mountainside and tells Salloum that he saw Abu Hasna kill him. Salloum asks him to go with him to the police station to testify about what he saw, but he refuses. Abu Hasna sells the silk for a large sum of money.

Abu Hasna meets with Abu Yahya, who asks him for large quantities of silk in exchange for a large sum of money. Hasna becomes angry with Abdel Maqsoud, who believes the rumors spread about her by her neighbor, Maryam bint Al Mukhtar, and advises him to focus on his work.

Abu Hasna disappears, and his daughter worries about him. She is forced to go to Al Mukhtar Abu Maryam to search with him for her father. Abu Hasna returns to the neighborhood with Shahin after Abu Yahya swindles them in a large silk deal.

Hasna visits Abdel Maqsoud at his school to ask him for any information he knows about what really happened between her father and Shahin in the silk trade, but he tells her he knows nothing. Abu Hasna asks Al Mukhtar for a weapon, but he refuses and arrests Abu Hasna.

Hasna visits Abdel Maqsoud at his home and asks him to help her father. He tells her that they will meet at Al Mukhtar's house to resolve this matter. Shahin visits Abu Hasna in prison and tells him that he has become a government employee and will stand by him until he is released.

Shahin visits Al Mukhtar at his home and asks him to select a group of the country's elite to go and ask for Hasna's hand in marriage from her father. However, Hasna's father refuses to let him marry his daughter.

Salloum assaults the police chief, and his sister advises him to flee the country. Abu Hasna plans to leave the country in the future so that Shahin can stay away from his daughter.

A thief is arrested in Shahin's house, and Al Mukhtar claims that Abu Hasna sent him to kill Shahin. The police chief begins investigating and orders Abu Al Abd's phone to be monitored because he suspects he is the mastermind.

Al Mukhtar enters Abu Hasna's locked house in the town with two of his companions and tells them that he is plotting a coup against the state and that they are looking for weapons or incriminating publications to present to the police. Abu Jaber tells the police chief that he suspects Abu Hasna of plotting a coup.

Maryam sits with Abdel Maqsoud and tries to express her feelings towards him, but he shocks her by refusing. The police raid the Danube Café and arrest a group of hard-working people, and Abu Al Yusr speaks with Abu Hasna about the need to fight against the corrupt.

Salloum visits Majdoleen's house after returning home and joining the army, and brags to her and her father about a photo of himself with Syrian President Husni al-Za'im. Abdel Maqsoud visits Abu Hasna in prison and tells him that Shahin always visits Hasna.

Salloum and his comrades rejoice over the success of President Husni al-Za'im's coup, and it is rumored that Abu Hasna participated in the coup. It becomes clear that Shahin played a role in the coup.

Abu Hasna decides to buy land and establish a farm for calves and cows to help the townspeople with production and work. The mayor worries about Abu Hasna's prolonged stay in the village and his failure to go to Damascus after the coup was established.

Shahin plans to pressure Abu Hasna to marry his daughter, as he will gain greater status and power after the coup's success. Shahin goes to the police chief, Abu Jaber, and falsely claims that Abu Hasna is corrupt and that the farmer's work is merely a cover for his illegal activities.

Shahin meets Hasna and tells her he is angry about her father's refusal to let them marry. Abdel Maqsoud quarrels with Shahin, but Hasna scolds Abdel Maqsoud and asks him not to interfere in her life. Abu Jaber interrogates Hasna's father.

Raya quarrels with Hasna and tells her that she doesn't like Shahin or Abdel Maqsoud. Abu Jaber reads Abu Hasna's letters and learns that he has written to the Minister of Justice to remove him from his position and to remove Al Mukhtar Abu Maryam from any responsibility related to the country.

Shahin writes a report stating that Abu Hasna is against the state, insults the authorities, and incites the working class to stage a coup against the state. Abu Hasna is arrested and questioned about receiving commissions and bribes, which he denies.

Abu Jaber plots to drive a wedge between Salloum and his group because he is in the army, works in the capital, and has great influence, which they fear. Abu Hasna is accused of plotting a coup against Field Marshal Husni al-Za'im, and Hasna is interrogated if she has information about her father's activities.

Abdel Maqsoud beats Shahin and makes him kiss his feet in front of everyone. Hasna is released and wants to leave the country. Shahin follows her and asks her to marry him, but she tells him that she will not marry him unless he restores his dignity in front of Abdel Maqsoud.

Nasri confesses his love for Maryam and tells her that he has brought documents that incriminate Shahin and will send him to prison, and that he will not hand them over to her unless she becomes his wife. Salloum goes to propose to Majdoleen, but her father rejects him.

Raya confronts Hasna with the truth, telling her that she doesn't value Abdel Maqsoud and is toying with his feelings. She'll surely lose him and she'll regret it. Abu Naseef is arrested on charges of joining Abu Hasna's coup group.

Shahin goes to marry Hasna, but Abu Rashid confronts him and prevents him, and heavy gunfire erupts in front of the house. As a statement is issued releasing Abu Hasna, Husni al-Zaim is dismissed and executed by firing squad, and Sami al-Hinnawi assumes the presidency.

Abu Hasna addresses the townspeople, urging them to fight against colonialism and to remain steadfast. He speaks with his friend Abu Rashid about the need to convince the townspeople that he is the one who carried out the coup so that he can protect them from the police.

The group Shahin works with requests that he write secret reports on Abu Hasna’s movements, especially after the dispute that broke out between the country’s president, Sami al-Hinnawi, and his aides. Shahin monitors Abdel Maqsoud.

The townspeople's demands from Abu Hasna increase, so Abu Rashid advises him to go to Damascus until things calm down, as he will not be able to help his townspeople release all these prisoners. Shahin meets with Hasna.

Abu Hasna's popularity increases in the town, and Shahin agrees with Nasri to attempt to assassinate Abu Hasna, as this is in his interest to pressure Al Mukhtar to marry him to Maryam.

Shahin reassures Nasri that he will resolve the issue of his marriage to Maryam. Al Mukhtar and Abu Jaber, the police chief, go to Abu Hasna to inform him that Shahin was the one who planned the assassination attempt on him through Nasri.

Abu Jaber arrives with Nasri, who confesses that Shahin is the one who planned all this. Abdel Maqsoud proposes to Maryam and Hasna, who had been planning to marry him and leave Shahin, collapses.

The army announces the dismissal of Sami al-Hinnawi from his position due to disagreements over the unity of Syria and Iraq. Abu Hasna quarrels with his daughter, telling her that she would never marry Shahin even if he were the last man on earth.
