Lina calls her uncle Galal while he's on set and asks him to go with her to the airport to pick up his son Amer. The shooting of the series ends, and the producer warns Galal to stop writing his condemning articles. As Amer returns, Galal, Uncle Michel, and his uncle Adel's children pick him up.
Lina asks uncle Michel to hire her friend Maysaa at the magazine. As Amer decides to discontinue his studies abroad, both his parents object to his decision. Galal asks Michel to persuade Amer to resume his studies. Hanan's father reprimands her for separating from her husband.
Fady's wife wants Hanan to get back to her husband. Fady communicates to his wife that Hanan's husband's worst traits are his alcoholism and his disgraceful behavior. Hanan sends Galal a message telling him that she likes his work.
Bashir asks Michel not to engage in debates about religions in order not to stir sectarian strife. Michel tells Galal about Hanan's divorce and her issues.
Galal asks to meet Hanan urgently. As Hanan's father calls her to attend the Mass, she recounts to him the miseries she had to endure with her irresponsible husband, Khalil. Samir asks Michel to publish a report he made. Michel and Maysaa get closer.
Adel quarrels with Galal over Michel's report that attacked him. Michel tells Galal that he only published the article to tackle societal problems by shedding light on them. Lina refuses to cut ties with Uncle Galal and Michel.
Michel visits Hanan and discusses with Fady the balance of power in the world. Hanan tells Galal that she told no one of their conversations. Galal insists to see Hanan. Amer's mother gets mad when Amer and his sister side with Galal.
Khalil accuses Hanan of tarnishing his image in his daughter Lilian's eyes. He insists on taking Lilian to America with him. As Galal goes mad when scenes from his show are omitted, the producer tells him it's out of their hand. Hanan tells Galal that she doesn't like his novel.
Lina objects when one of her uncles accuses Galal of criticizing religion. Mounir gets mad at his granddaughter Lilian for reading the magazine and prevents Michel from ever setting foot in his house.
Afaf and Sawsan object when Soliman visits Sawsan at home. It turns out that Soliman wants to wed Sawsan. Galal's mother wants him to get married. Hanan tells Galal it's impossible for them to be together. Soliman's son asks Hanan to stay away from Soliman.
Fady and his wife quarrel because Fady wants to sell the house. Mounir asks Hanan not to stay out late. Michel advises Galal not to marry Hanan since she is Christian, and the society won't approve of their relationship.
Galal asks Hanan to give their relationship a chance. Mounir reminds Hanan of the fact that she is a divorced woman and should live life moderately and quit her job.
Samah visits Michel and tells him she hasn't married. Galal tells Lina that no one helped him the way Samah did; she gave Galal documents condemning her own father, and when her father tried to force her to remarry, she rejected and tried to kill herself.
Galal refuses to let go of Hanan despite all obstacles. Michel marries Samah. Hassan tells Marwan that he saw his sister entering a guy's house. Wedah denounces Hassan's action and asks Marwan to give his sister the benefit of the doubt.
Mona wants to quit her job, but Michel offers her to work from home. Marwan kills his own sister.
When Afaf gives birth, Adel refuses to congratulate her due to his disagreement with Galal. Lina tells Wa'el she won't misuse her freedom. As Lilian falls ill, Hanan takes her to the hospital and Galal saves her.
Maysaa makes a copy of the documents at the company. Hanan's mother tells her daughter that she wanted to leave Hanan's father but she didn't do it out of fear. Sawsan marries Soliman, which precipitates her family's disapproval.
Galal warns Nawal against badmouthing Sawsan. Michel wages a campaign against strict religious teachings, much to Galal's disapproval. Elham rejoices when a date is set for her and Wedah's Katb Ketab (marriage-authorization ceremony.)
Adel gets embroiled in suspicious deals with his partner, which lands him in hot water. Khalil gives Hanan's father a sum of money to help him support Lilian financially. Michel learns that Maysaa spies on him for Samir and communicates the news of the magazine to him.
Adel is enraged when Lina gets a job at Michel's magazine. Lina refuses to quit her new job. Hanan meets Galal at his apartment when a stranger knocks on the door and leaves Hanan a love letter.
Galal hides the news of his and Hanan's marriage. Galal finds a paper with the names of Hanan, Khalil, and Fady, while Lilian's name is crossed out.
Hanan suspects that Sawsan is the one leaving them the notes with the names, but Galal assures her it's not Sawsan. Samah and Michel celebrate three months of their marriage. When advertising agencies break off their deal with Michel, he suspects a plot has been drawn to ruin his business.
Lina, Mona, and other writers at the magazine engage in discussions over religious tolerance and coexistence. The group meets with Islamic and Christian clerks for further discussions, and a group of anonymous people sabotages the meeting. George proposes to Hanan but she rejects him.
Michel receives threats of defamation if he doesn't divorce Samah. Maysaa accuses Samir of monitoring her. Mona warns Michel against resuming with his campaign, but Lina supports him and the campaign.
Adel receives a job offer, but his mother disapproves. Wedah's mother meets a guy online and goes out with him.
Wedah is shocked to learn that his parents got a divorce, until he learns about his mother's betrayal.
Adel is saddened by the news of Wedah's parents' divorce. A college student tells Sawsan that Soliman wanted to sleep with her in exchange for helping her pass the exam. Zeyad asks Adel to break off Elham's and Wedah's engagement.
As Amer returns from abroad, Salim notices a change in his behavior as he adopts an extremist ideology. Michel assures Galal that it's just a phase and Amer will snap out of it.
Elham wants Wedah to forgive his mother. Amer sticks firmly to his newly-adopted ideology and blames his father and Michel for their campaign. Hanan refuses to wed her cousin, Joseph.
Khalil threatens to expose Hanan's relationship with Galal if she doesn't get a divorce. Amer proves to be unwavering in his religious extremism. Galal wants to make his and Hanan's marriage known.
Hanan thinks of ending her relationship with Galal, despite her love for him. As Galal passes away, Hanan and Michel have a breakdown. Fady learns that Hanan and Galal were married.
Galal is buried, and Hanan's family are mad at her. Zeyad regrets being mean to Galal and Hanan. Adel blames Khalil for Galal's death. Hanan gives Galal's latest novel to his son, Amer.
Khalil is arrested for trying to get Samah and Lilian kidnapped. Amer is shocked to learn that Hanan is pregnant. Galal's latest novel is published, highlighting one important lesson in life: that one's beliefs stand for something, and hence should be examined and questioned.
