This picture is an American comedy that was directed by Andy Fickman. Moe Jelline wrote the screenplay. The productions hosts a wide array of familiar actors including Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver among others.
Marni (Kristen Bell) is a successful public relations executive who just got promoted to a new post in New York. Despite her undeniable real-life success Marni never quite got over how much she was tormented through high school and bullied by other more popular girls.
That unglamorous phase comes back to haunt Marni when she prepares to attend her brother Will’s (James Wolk) wedding. Will is set to marry Joanna, (Odette Yustman) one of the characters who contributed to making the high school experience so tough for Marni. However, Joanna seems to have changed over the years and appears to have genuinely transformed into a caring person who is openly welcomed into Marni’s family. Things get yet more complicated when Joanna’s aunt, Ramona (Sigourney Weaver) comes into the picture. Ramona used to be friends with Gail (Jamie Lee Curtis), Marni’s mother, when the two were back in high school but their friendship came to an end when Ramona pushed Gail into a swimming pool at their senior prom.
Clearly Gail and Marni on one hand and Ramona and Joanna on another have issues to work out, so, will the wedding provide a suitable venue for such a rapprochement or will it turn into some sort of battle arena?
