Upon officer Hamza's advice, the execution of the death sentence against Selim Fawaz is postponed after he threatens to assassinate the Assistant Secretary of the Minister of Interior. However, the Assistant Secretary is assassinated following Selim's execution.

Hamza receives numerous threatening calls, and he still believes the caller to be Selim. Hamza decides to find Selim's wife to know whether Selim is alive or not.

A journalist embarks on a journey to trace the events that led Selim to end up a terrorist. The story goes back to Selim's university days when one of his students was arbitrarily caught for his religious beliefs.

The journalist goes to the next stop down the road and she contacts Selim's mother-in-law, who tells her how devastated he was in prison; immense devastation that made him consider suicide. Hamza still receives threatening calls, and he assuredly believes the caller is Selim himself.

Selim's story unravels gradually, and a tipping point in it is when Selim decides to take revenge on the State Security officer who was assigned Selim's case and was the reason behind Selim's imprisonment.

Selim's story continues to unravel, and it is revealed that he found an ally in an Islamist group that offered him help, but it's not unconditional. In return for their support, he will have to help them carry out a number of operations targeting the Ministry of Interior.

As the story unfolds, it portrays how Selim lied to his wife, claiming that he was going on a business trip to Italy while he was actually going to a training camp in preparation for the reprisals against the Ministry of Interior officials. Hamza is still receiving calls threatening to murder his nephew in retaliation.

Selim's threats precipitate as he abducts Hamza's nephew and urges Hamza to murder Sheikh Jaber if he wants to get his nephew back. Hamza is forced to choose between murdering Jaber or sacrificing his nephew.

Hamza tries to deceive Selim by claiming that he murdered Jaber, but the trick doesn't fool Selim. Jaber communicates to the police that the next operation has the Prime Minister as a target, which is merely a false statement used to mislead and startle the cops.

The police eventually find out the truth about Selim's execution, and it turns out that he could get the help of the executioner and the prison doctor to fake his death. Selim visits his father who expels him and makes it clear that he vehemently despises what has become of his son.

Selim meets Ghada who is shocked to see him alive. The police, meanwhile, try to get Selim's father to confess where his son is, but their interrogations are futile. After a long and arduous search, Hamza manages to arrest Selim.

Selim's father falls ill and is transferred to the hospital, and Selim tries to get Ghada's help to visit him. The police eventually learn who's the traitor who has been helping Selim and Jaber through it all.

Selim goes to the hospital to see his father, but he finds Hamza and Bahaa there as the police make a raid on the hospital to catch him. Two important revelations are made: the true nature of Ghada's relationship with the company's owner and who is the officer that's been helping Selim.

Selim tells Hamza that the new operation targets General Sabry, but Bahaa saves him.

The police learn that Magdy is the traitor as he has been helping Selim all this time, and to delude Selim, the police publish fake news claiming that Magdy is arrested.

Jaber offers Selim to help him get out of prison, and in exchange, he wants him to carry out an extremely dangerous operation. Selim vows to Ghada that they shall be reunited again.

During his escape, Selim gets shot, and Jaber tries to rescue him by all means. Hamza is still investigating where Selim can be, but failing that, he opts for searching for the doctor who treated Selim at the prison.

Selim abducts several hostages, including General Magdy, and threatens to bombard the area. Hamza intervenes in an attempt to rescue everyone, but the bomb explodes and he fails to rescue Magdy.

Selim quarrels with Jaber. Hamza has Ghada arrested to urge her to help turn Selim in if he wants to get out of the trouble he is entrapped in.

Jaber orders Selim to finish making the explosives and have them done with, and he gives instructions for Hamza to be murdered.

Jaber loses the charge of explosives and urges Selim to find a solution to such a dilemma; Selim heads to his college professor to consult him. Selim's father gets extremely ill.

Selim changes his mind concerning murdering Hamza. Jaber decides not to tell Selim about his father's illness. Selim meets Ghada.

Hamza learns that Jaber is preparing for a major operation. Hamza tells Ghada that he loves her. Ghada sees Selim's father while he is on his deathbed.

Selim gets into a state of melancholy and despair as he learns of his father's death. Jaber incites Selim to take revenge on Hamza and the police. Bahaa is murdered.

Hamza is suspended from work, but he still resumes his investigations. Selim goes to the Egyptian Museum disguised to carry out the operation.

Hamza pledges to resume his post and resume working on the case. Ghada invites Moataz for the museum's opening ceremony.

Museum workers are suspicious of Selim and Hamza arrests Moataz. Jaber plans to attack the presidential palace, but he is shocked to receive the news that Selim pulled out of the mission and just fled the museum.

Jaber kidnaps Selim and accuses him of treason, and then he goes to meet Moataz. Jaber returns to his hideaway to find that Selim escaped and left a bomb behind.

Jaber and his men die in the explosion. Selim asks Ghada to meet her. Hamza suspects that Selim didn't die in the blast, and he turned against Jaber.

Selim and Hamza are attacked by Jaber'e men. On the day of the museum's opening, Hamza learns that Jaber is alive, and Selim defuses the bomb. Hamza arrests Jaber and he learns that he murdered Selim.
