| Tarek Sharkawy | This film takes the site of an old photographic studio named Studio Shehrazade (founded in Saida –South Lebanon—in1953) as a site of an excavation the filmmaker leads. The film observes all kinds of findings, through which the film counts the story of a photographer, Hashem el Madani (1928- ), a city (Saida), an economy, and the industry of photography. It hereby touches on the socio-politics of image making and consuming, and looks at the function photography played in the lives of city inhabitants. 505 |
