As Jane and Lisbon keep their relationship on the down-low, they join the team at the FBI to investigate the murder of one of their coworkers.

As they try to bust a high-end theft ring, the FBI pools their resources with those of the CIA as Lisbon infiltrates a prison to get the ringleader's girl to turn on him.

Jane recruits an old rival to bring down a criminal connected to a terrorist organization. As Jane relies on his skills to get close to the criminal, an unexpected shootout forces Jane to improvise to save the operation.

When a bout of illness takes Jane out of commission, Lisbon is forced to fall back on everything she picked up from him to bring down some jewel thieves. Abbott's past actions come back to haunt him and his wife.

When Jane casts doubt on the circumstances surrounding the murder of a colonel's wife, the FBI is pressured to close the case as Jane comes to suspect that the colonel is implicated.

When Bill Peterson, a former colleague of Abbott's, tries to use a dark secret against them to take credit for a discovery, Jane steps in to level the playing field, especially as Peterson's team becomes compromised by the hunt of a mole.

With her brother implicated in a murder investigation, Lisbon takes Jane to her hometown in an attempt to suss out the truth.

The team is tasked with protecting the witness in a murder case from the family of criminals on her tail. With a hitman targeting the witness, Jane takes drastic measures to ensure that Lisbon will remain safe.

With Bill Peterson out to bring Abbott down, Jane and the team race to find incriminating evidence of Peterson's own corruption and save Abbott.

While investigating an armed robbery, the case takes a turn for the team as tragedy befalls one of their own, forcing Jane to reevaluate his place at the FBI.

With Jane battling his feelings about Lisbon being in the line of fire due to her job, the team becomes in need of his help when someone leads them to a number of dead bodies, claiming to have psychic powers.

Jane makes his return to help the team catch the serial killer responsible for the bodies the psychic led them to, but his attempt to lure him in backfires, leaving Jane's life hanging in the balance.

As Jane and Lisbon prepare to tie the knot, their nuptials are put on the line as Lazarus returns to wreak havoc and get revenge on Jane.
