The detectives Cullen and Tolbeck are waiting on a shipment of drugs from a Mexican cartel on night 35 of a drug stakeout at the San Diego ports.

A dockside stakeout is disrupted by an overzealous security officer, April tells Carol the harrowing story of why she was removed from duty, and Hendy gets ready to make a crucial call to dispatch.

The Crims bemoan the lack of creativity in the Australian criminal justice system, and Carol's son Lachy is suspended from school under peculiar circumstances. Hendy and April also have an awkward radio exchange.

The Crims reunite, Carol brings Lachy to work, and Tanya, a witness, discovers what a high-caliber television program about Hendy and Stokes is like.

Hendy is awestruck by US detective Cutler, but the food on the plane puts them in a bad situation. Meanwhile, an accidental encounter over takeout leads to a sincere conversation about family.
