As Madelyn rudely, welcomes her 5 months absent mother, Ben tries to get through what happened after the siren's attack. A new group of mermaids arrive to the town.

While the mermaid pack try to understand the humans' ways of communication, Kelvin tries to sell the news of mermaid's existence to a newspaper organization.

Katrina defies Ryn to be the alpha, after discovering that the latter is weak from her absence from water. Meanwhile, Helen learns about a long-forgotten relative.

Ben tries to help when the mermaid group are starting to be uncontrollable. Elsewhere, Xander takes Katrina as a hostage, and asks her where Levi is.

Ben and Xander team up to help the mermaid group return to the water. Maddie discovers that she is at risk.

As Katrina tries to turn the group against Ryn, the latter and Maddie meet someone from Susan's past.

In order to save her kind, Ryn collaborates with a complex friend, when the mermaids are staring to get negative effects from the water tank.

Matters go sore when the mermaids and humans try to implement their thorough plan to prevent the oil company.

The mermaids try to adapt to their ocean home, as Ben, Maddie and the others try to cope with the oil rig's attack. Meantime, Ryn meets with the military, as promised, despite knowing what their hidden goals are.

Elaine seeks treatment from the military when her health starts to deteriorate. Helen and Rick discover that they are not alone, after learning about their hybrid status.

Everyone is eager to know how the siren works when one of them gets affected, causing the military to be more interested in Ryn.

Ryn assists Ben and Maddie to find a cure that will help their condition.

Helen and Ben go on a hunting mission for hybrids, who convinced a mermaid to go with them. Elsewhere, Xander is approached by a journalist who wants to know about the oil rig's incident.

The mermaids start to wonder if they can breed on land, after the mating season was not a success.

In order to help Ryn with her embryos, and to stop the threat of mermaid extinction, Helen and Maddie ask the hybrids for help.

After the mermaids' truth is revealed, Ben is in unenviable situation, when he has to make a choice that threatens all humans, mermaids, and hybrids.
