As Madelyn rudely receives her estranged mom, Ben tries to get through what happened after the song of the siren. A new group of mermaids arrives in town.

While the mermaid pack understands the humans' ways of interaction, Kelvin tries to sell the news of the mermaids' existence to a newspaper organization.

Katrina faces off against Ryn to be the alpha after discovering that the latter is weak from being away from water. Meanwhile, Helen learns about a long-forgotten relative.

Ben tries to help when the mermaid group starts to be uncontrollable and gets divided. Elsewhere, Xander holds Katrina captive and asks her where Levi is.

Ben and Xander team up to help the mermaid group return to the water. Maddie discovers that she is at risk.

As Katrina tries to get the rest of the group to join her, Dale tries to deal with the results from Maddie and Ryn's meeting with someone from Susan's past.

In order to save her kind, Ryn collaborates with a complex friend when the mermaids begin to get negative effects from the water tank.

Matters go sore when the mermaids and humans try to implement their thorough plan to put a stop to the oil company's efforts.

The mermaids try to adapt to their ocean home, as Ben, Maddie, and the others try to cope with the assault on the oil rig. Meantime, Ryn goes back to land to fulfill her agreement with the military.

Elaine treated by the military as her health starts to deteriorate. Helen and Rick discover that they are not alone after learning more about the hybrid status.

Everyone is eager to know how the siren song works when one of them gets affected, causing the military to be more interested in Ryn.

Ryn assists Ben and Maddie in finding a cure that will help with their condition.

Helen and Ben go on a hunting mission for hybrids, who convinced a mermaid to go with them. Elsewhere, Xander is approached by a journalist who wants to know about the oil rig's incident.

The mermaids start to wonder if they can breed on land after the mating season was not a success.

In order to help Ryn with her embryos, and to stop the threat of mermaid extinction, Helen and Maddie ask the hybrids for help.

After the truth about the mermaids is revealed, Ben becomes in unenviable situation when he has to make a choice that would affect all humans, mermaids, and hybrids.
