After getting out of prison, a con man in his 30s adopts his former cellmate Pete's persona. He moves in with Pete's estranged, unknowing family and is forced to work at the law firm run by the family. While working with them, he will learn about the family life he never had.

When their business is at risk, Otto and Audrey become more tense. While Marius suggests a bold move to help Julia handle a difficult client, he recalls how he and Vince came to be foes.

As Marius tries to make it to his parole officer appointment, he must elude Pete's nosy cousins and an ambush. Eddie's despair grows, while Katie decides to help Marius.

After being tempted by the prospect of a large payout in the safe at the bail bonds office, Marius finds it difficult to manipulate Pete's family, particularly Taylor, who has a short fuse and a well-guarded secret. Vince has a difficult client to deal with.

Marius discovers something important, while Audrey and Otto have an argument. Meanwhile, Julia revisits her romance with her ex, Lance, and Vince offers Eddie a new job. Carly confronts her strange relative about his past.

Trying to come up with money urgently for the firm, Marius enlists the assistance of younger talent while Otto meets old pals on the local reservation. Meanwhile, Carly reveals a secret about Pete, and Julia needs to determine if she can trust Lance once more.

Trying to save the business, Audrey devises plans with Marius, while Otto is adamant about doing things his way. Carly confronts Marius about what she found out, and he tries to reinforce his new identity by visiting people from his past. Elsewhere, Winslow tracks down Katie and her family by going after Marius.

As Marius is attempting to recover funds from a deceptive deal, Otto moves forward with a risky scheme. Meantime, Katie and Brendon have a tied-up police detective in their basement.

As Otto's plan goes sideways, Dockery asks for the money back. An unlikely source comes to Marius' aid.

When Marius starts playing poker at Vince's table, Vince grows skeptical. Meanwhile, Julia tries to save Lance, and Audrey encounters a horrifying crime scene.
