After spending three years training in martial arts in China, Nicky Shen returns home to San Francisco, only to find her town under the control of a criminal organization called the Triad, to which her family owes money.

As Nicky defends a young woman against her attacker, she manages to find some answers. Meanwhile, she turns to Henry to help her track down Zhilan.

While looking for Zhilan, Nicky and Henry cross paths with a professor who may be able to lead them to her. As Jin and Mei-Li fight, more serious problems wuth their marriage come to light. Althea is still tormented by past trauma.

Nicky and Henry's quest leads them to a private collector in Napa. When Althea attends dinner with the Soongs, she's left with feelings of worthlessness. Meanwhile, Evan grows more suspicious of Henry.

An incident of a police officer's involvement in a shooting in Chinatown causes a panic. Mei-Li and Jin relive a past traumatic event. Nicky and Henry uncover a shocking fact.

Nicky decides to take action, as the plan to recover a weapon comes to naught. Althea is forced to make a momentous decision.

When Nicky finds out some terrible news regarding Pei-Ling, she decides to do something to take her mind off of it. Zhilan is forced to deal with a past issue. Mei-Lei reveals a shocking truth.

After the uncovering of a dark family secret, Nicky and her family get to grips with its repercussions. Meanwhile, the bride-to-be Althea gets ready for her bachelorette party.

A new clue takes Nicky to a small Canadian town, along with Henry and Evan. Meanwhile, Zhilan and Kerwin Tan form an alliance, and Jin and Mei-Li have to make a critical decision.

Nicky's attempt to absolve an innocent college student from a crime forces her to return to school, where she stumbles upon a sorority that hides a dreadful secret.

In their quest, Nicky and Henry find themselves in Las Vegas at a K-pop concert, as a confrontation with Zhilan and Kerwin looms in the offing. Meanwhile, Jin and Mei-Li grapple with a problem regarding the restaurant.

Nicky and Henry race against time, as they try to decipher a map that might help them find the Forge. With Po Po arriving soon, Althea and the family make preparations.

Nicky finally finds out what is required to open the Forge, while at home, the tea ceremony of Althea and Dennis is interrupted by an urgent situation.
