Ali Al-Ansari was born in the city of Kadhimiya in Baghdad in 1944. His beginnings were since he was a child, where he worked in the movie Life disciplined him. He loved historical drama, where he drew many stories from Islamic history to turn them into evenings and television series, and began his artistic career in 1967 as a director. He was a radio broadcaster in the Armed Forces Radio affiliated to the Ministry of Defense before he moved to work at Voice of the Masses Radio in May 1970 and then to Baghdad Radio as director of historical series. In 1972, he passed with overwhelming success the TV directing course at the Radio and Television Training Institute and then worked in the cultural department in Iraq TV as director of cultural drama. Then as a director of many historical and social series. His work: Ashes of the Past, The Dream and Diary of Abu Rizki. Many of his works won important prizes in Arab festivals, including “Al-Himma” and “Al-Asma’i”. He passed away from 72 years after a struggle with illness in 2016.
