In a desperate attempt to secure a better life for her and her lover Sam, Marion Crane steals money from her employer. She checks into the secluded Bates Motel where she meets its owner, the shy Norman who hides a terrifying secret.
Norman Bates seeks to return to his former state of isolation after twenty-two years in mental care, but the ghosts of his misdeeds and his mother proceed to haunt him.
As Norman Bates continues running the Bates Motel, he falls for a beautiful young nun, while a snooping reporter is trying to uncover Norman's dark secret.
