Floyd takes unexpected action, Charlie tries to prove his worth, Peggy and Ed disagree about what to do, and Lou finds himself sidelined during Ronald Reagan's campaign.

The Gerhardt family arrives at the police station after Ed and Charlie are arrested, forcing Lou Solverson and Hank to work harder to try to prevent further bloodshed.

Floyd is called to the police station for interrogation in an attempt to force her to talk. Meanwhile, Bear goes for a walk with Simon, and Carl keeps a close eye on Lou's family.

Dodd finds himself trapped by Ed and Peggy in an abandoned cabin, trying to negotiate a deal with the Gerhardts, while tension and anxiety rise. Meanwhile, Hanzee relentlessly tracks Ed and Peggy.

In an attempt to bring down the Kansas City crime syndicate, the police decide to use Ed and Peggy as bait for a dangerous mission, before Hanzee decides to betray the Gerhardt family to exact his revenge.

After the bloody events at the hotel, Hanzee decides to go after Ed Gerhardt and Peggy Blumquist and mortally wounds Ed, but Peggy manages to drag him into a grocery store and hide afterward.
